We are in the business of people-building. Nations are made of people. All people are valuable and worth investing in and edifying. Vulnerable people need effective intervention, encouragement, and connection. We exist to edify and improve the lives of people who, for various reasons, do not have their most fundamental needs met. We edify people by consulting and partnering with providers, community members and allies of vulnerable populations.
Using more than two decades of social welfare and human service experience, we provide an array of consultation and supports to social/human services organizations. Our service array includes, but is not limited to: technical assistance in the areas of implementation, planning and integration; planning to identify and meet short-term, mid-range, and long-term goals; program and project design, development and management.
Our mission is to build up nations by building up people - mind, body and spirit.
Education + Wellbeing = Success!
A Second Chance, Inc. (ASCI) is a non-profit corporation established in 1994. Its mission is to provide a safe, secure, and nurturing environment to children who are being cared for by their relatives or a close family friend - formally called "kinship care". ASCI became a subcontracting agency of Allegheny County Children and Youth Services (now called Allegheny County Children, Youth and Families [CYF]) in July, 1994.
As a membership and advocacy organization, the mission of the Black Administrators in Child Welfare is to advocate for culturally-appropriate services for African American children and families in the child welfare system and to promote the development and support of African American leaders in the field.
